What it is

Power Automate: Process mining - Analyze your processes in the process intelligence experience is a Microsoft 365 roadmap item published via Microsoft Release Communications. Current status: Launched.

What it does

The process intelligence experience is a modern, flexible workspace designed for comprehensive process analysis. It provides a fully customizable analysis environment that combines multiple visualization and analysis components into cohesive, purpose-built workspaces. The platform empowers users to construct exactly the analytical view they need without technical complexity. Core capabilities include: Tab-based navigation: Organize related analyses into separate tabs within a single workspace, maintaining context while exploring different perspectives or process segments. Flexible layouts: Arrange tiles in customizable grid layouts, allowing you to position process maps, charts, tables, and metrics exactly where you need them for optimal visibility and comparison. Powerful tiles: Choose from a comprehensive library of visualization and analysis components—process maps, variant analysis, performance metrics, attribute breakdowns, case lists, and statistical views. Unified filtering: Apply filters once and have them cascade across all tiles in your workspace, ensuring consistency and enabling rapid scenario comparison without manual reconfiguration. The process intelligence experience saves your workspace configurations, allowing teams to create reusable analysis templates and share standardized views across the organization for consistent process monitoring and improvement tracking. Business Value: The process intelligence experience eliminates the friction between your questions and your answers. Instead of navigating rigid dashboards or using a desktop application, your teams work in a fluid, customizable environment that adapts to their analysis needs in real-time. This means faster time-to-insight, reduced training overhead, and the ability to tackle complex process questions without constantly restarting your analysis. Business analysts, process owners, and improvement teams can now build comprehensive views that tell the complete story by comparing scenarios side-by-side, drilling from overview to detail without losing context, and sharing ready-made analyses with stakeholders. The result is more confident decision-making, shortened analysis cycles, and broader adoption of process intelligence across your organization. Why you should care

Board

Track as Horizon signal; decide whether it changes Wave 0 priority or stays on the watchlist.

CISO

Confirm identity, data access, and overshare exposure before enabling for broad cohorts.

CFO

Map licence or consumption impact to the frozen value case; avoid seat spray.

Adoption

Use for measurement of behaviour change; feed Pane 08 Adoption and Pane 06 Cost & Value.

Suggested action

Wave 0 first: Security → GRC → Cost & Value → Licence → Adoption. Decide: adopt for a named cohort, defer, or reject. If adopting, update licence and adoption plans in the same week.

12 Panes: 03 Horizon · 08 Adoption

Communication needed

  • Security: Assess exposure, Conditional Access, and agent/tool permissions.
  • GRC: Update AI/agent register and evidence path; confirm DPIA triggers if personal data is in scope.
  • FinOps: Forecast seat or credit impact; align to frozen value case.
  • Adoption: Plan cohort messaging, clinics, and success measures.
  • Comms: One story for board and staff — what changes, what does not, who owns risk.

Benefits

  • May improve productivity on a specific Microsoft 365 surface when permissions and data quality allow.
  • Roadmap visibility helps Horizon planning without guessing dates.

Risks

  • Status and dates change; treat MRC as directional, not a contract.
  • Enabling without Steady controls can amplify overshare or cost leakage.
